Packing
the greenhouses Although we still haven't dug up our tender exotics we have been gradually bringing containerised plants under cover, even the really hardy ones. Our aim is to have every plant on the nursery under glass this winter.

Wrapping for
winter This unseasonable weather makes one wonder if winter will ever arrive. We have to start making plans for protecting our tender exotics but they're still growing and blooming beautifully. We're watching the Met Office 5 day forecast like hawks.

The future? As gardeners wouldn't it be a godsend to have access to accurate long range weather forecasting. Unfortunately, most forecasting seems to be pure speculation and there have been many sensational headlines recently, with forecasters playing fast and loose with numbers, predicting scaremongering temperatures of -20C and heavy snow.
