Rabbits!

Rabbits are starting to get out of hand. Wire fences have been put up behind the shade house to stop them getting into the grasses sales area. Unfortunately the fields either side of the nursery look like they will have sugar beet instead of wheat this year which means we are the only food supply! We'll have to look into rabbit fencing the whole of the nursery which will be a big expense.

  • Dont worry guys the money will all be worth it. We paid a fortune here at the college to have the whole horticultural unit done, it cost thousands but it has worked a treat.

We paid for an area to be rabbit and deer fenced at the college it was 80 mtrs by 45 mtrs and cost about £4,000, will keep the sods out though.

Hope all is good with you, good luck for the spring.

Love the funky new website, its gorgeous.

  • We have a real rabbits problem as well. We tried using chicken wire and pushed right down, but obviously they just dig under it. Our garden is also about 1/3rd acre and they always find a way in. The plants have a real tough time in the spring, and then the problem seems to ease a bit.
