AGM Family: Aspleniaceae (Maidenhair Spleenwort) A very pretty little evergreen or semi-evergreen fern with dark green fronds made up of glossy dark brown/black stalks with small, pinnate, square tipped pinnae (leaflets). It spreads by creeping, underground rhizomes. It is to be found on every continent except Antarctica.
This is good fern for a rock garden where it will happily grow in crevices or on poor, rubbly soil or a shady woodland border.
Height and spread 20cm.
