Originating from Chile
An upright deciduous shrub with glossy, dark green leaves and sprays of bright yellow/green tubular flowers that last for months during summer, (all year in a conservatory), followed by black berries in autumn. Birds love them but they are toxic to humans and other animals. It is an extremely floriferous plant and the flowers are exotically fragrant in the evenings.
Hard frosts may cut this plant back to ground level. Re-growth is usually rapid and flowers form on new growth the same year.
Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun. Requires a sheltered site outdoors.
