A vigorous, upright, deciduous shrub with white margined, grey/green leaves. A pleasant enough foliage shrub during summer and autumn, it becomes the jewel of the winter garden, when all its leaves have dropped to reveal glossy, vivid red stems. Plant en masse or allow it to sucker making a small thicket.
Grow in moist soil in sun/part shade. Cut back stems hard in March.
