A small evergreen tree, low branching and shrub-like in appearance with striking, smooth, flaking, grey/white bark. The juvenile leaves are fascinating, powder blue in colour, round in shape and completely encircling the stem. As these die they dry, become bright red and separate from, but remain encircling the stem, blowing and rustling in the wind - earning this Eucalyptus its common name, the 'Spinning Gum'. To maintain the juvenile leaves, coppice yearly. The adult leaves are lance-shaped and silver/green.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun.
