A vigorous upright deciduous shrub with mid-green, pointed, toothed leaves and large, upright pointing conical panicles of flowers, opening creamy white but becoming deep pink as they mature.
Grow in moist but well-drained, humus rich soil in part shade with shelter from strong, drying winds. Flowers form on current years growth s prune hard in early spring before the buds break to maintain a bushy shrub and for larger but fewer flowers.
