Originating from Himalayas, China, Russia

A spreading tree with very large glossy leaves, up to 30cm and bronze-purple when young. It is commonly grown for its edible nuts but is a beautiful tree and makes an excellent specimen for a large garden, although it may take 50 years to reach its mature height.
Grow in deep, fertile soil in sun.
