Family Asparagaceae
Originating from Southeast USA

A multi-branching, small, tree-like Yucca, with a rosette of green, boldly striped yellow, straight, stiff leaves with very finely serrated margins. There is no terminal spine but the leaf has a very sharp, pointed tip. A smaller variant of Yucca gloriosa and less likely to produce as many stems - rosettes are somewhat smaller too. Plants benefit enormously from an annual clean up of dead foliage from base of rosettes, resulting in an extremely architectural specimen. It has been cultivated for several centuries in England.
An extremely hardy species, tolerating a wide range of conditions and most soils. Prefers full sun.

Eventual mature plant size :
Height 1.2m
Spread 90cm
