No ordinary Laurel, this variety has the finest foliage of all laurel varieties with pendulous, leathery leaves up to 30cm long and 12cm wide. These are highly glossy, deepest green and resemble those of Magnolia grandiflora (Bullbay). It is vigorous and may easily be trained into a small tree by removing the lower branches, and would make a handsome and unusual specimen. Rarely offered.
Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in shade/part shade.
