(trumpet creeper 'Madame Galen')
  (Award of Garden Merit)

Family Bignoniaceae
Originating from China and N. America

A vigorous, deciduous climber with pretty, finely cut, dark green leaves, very much like those of Ash, on thick, woody stems. In summer it produces huge panicles of exotic orange/red, trumpet-shaped flowers. Apart from roses, these are the largest flowers of any hardy climber and the flowering period extends over several months.
'Madame Galen' is self-clinging by aerial roots and will quickly cover a wall, fence or shed. Because of its vigour it may be necessary to prune back growth in late winter.
Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun.

Eventual mature plant size :
Height 10m
