(giant scabious,yellow scabious)
Originating from Caucasus, Siberia
This outstanding hardy herbaceous perennial produces tall, airy, almost leafless stems bearing primrose-yellow flower heads. Excellent with grasses or as a contrast to the heavy folige of Gingers and Cannas. If you love the transparent quality of Verbena bonarienesis, you'll also love Giant scabious. And like Verbena it will self-seed and birds and bees love it. Excellent cut flower too.
Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun/part shade.
