Family Euphorbiaceae
Originating from Madeira

An evergreen, bushy shrub forming a rounded dome of upright stems and narrow, bright green leaves arranged in whorls around the stems. It produces heads of small red/brown flowers in late spring with a delicious honey scent and a magnet for bees.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun. Prune very hard in early spring if the plant becomes leggy.
Sap is a skin irritant and poisonous if ingested.
