(Lesotho red hot poker, Torch lily)
(Award of Garden Merit)
Originating from South Africa
An evergreen perennial with long, arching, blue/green, finely-toothed leaves up to 70cm long on thick woody stems. Fat, coral-red flowers on stout stems are produced in summer. These are an added bonus as Kniphofia caulescens is worthy as a foliage plant alone.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun.
