A clump forming perennial with large, kidney-shaped leaves that emerge in late winter/early spring, a vivid beetroot colour, becoming bronze green with lustrous burgundy undersides. The leaves are upturned/cup-shaped, and so the sumptuously coloured undersides are always on show. In summer red stems bear shaggy-petalled golden/orange daisy-like flowers above the mound of foliage giving an amazing combination of colour and texture throughout summer and autumn.
Grow in deep, moist soil in shade/part shade. Will tolerate a drier soil if in full shade or a sunnier aspect if grown in permanently moist conditions.
