(Helen's Hybrid Banana) Family Musaceae Originating from E. Himalayas
Discovered in the eastern Himalayan region of Darjeeling, India. Thought to be a hybrid of Musa sikkimensis and the edible Musa 'Chini-Champa'. Green leaves sometimes marked with a red midrib and often has bright red leaf backs on the new foliage. It grows at 5,000ft so should take some frost. Grow in very fertile, moisture retentive, well-drained soil in full sun or dappled shade.
