Originating from Austria and S.E. Europe
A dense, domed, evergreen coniferous tree with dark brown/black bark that becomes deeply fissured with age. It has long, stiff, deepest, dark green needles. A beautiful specimen tree but will make a great wind break on an exposed site. Suitable for Niwaki and bonsai.
Grow in well-drained soil in sun. Will tolerate poor chalky soils and is very wind and salt and pollution tolerant.
