Family Pinaceae
Originating from Mexico

An elegant pine with a rounded head, often branching low, with long, slender, light green leaves. These leaves can be up to 28cm in length with an almost grass-like appearance, hanging from the branch in groups of three. Its graceful weeping habit is one of the distinctive features of this extremely ornamental pine.
Grow in moist but well drained soil in sun. Pinus patula does not tolerate very chalky soils and isn't suitable for the coldest parts of the UK.
