Originating from S.W. Asia
A bushy herbaceous perennial with fine, feathery dark green leaves. Red, daisy-like flowers with a large, golden, central disc, are freely produced in summer on long, erect, sturdy stems, and held well above the foliage. An old-fashioned cottage garden flower that works spectacularly well in the exotic garden; its glowing flowers combining admirably with hot coloured canna and ginger blooms and its frothy foliage contrasting to great effect with their enormous, lush leaves. Makes a superb and long-lasting cut flower.
Prune back after initial flush of flowers for a compact plant and repeat flowering.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun.
