Native to the Redwood forests of the western states of North America this statuesque fern has large rosettes of arching, triangular, apple green fronds that can grow up to 2m in length. This giant of a fern has the same prehistoric appearance as the tree ferns. Woodwardia fimbriata earns its common name from the sori (spores), arranged in a chain-like pattern on the undersides of the leaflets. Grow in moist but well-drained soil in light shade or some sun if soil is very moist.
