Originating from China
A small deciduous tree with an elegant habit. It has a loose crown of unusually deep matt bluey/green coloured leaves that turn brilliant red, yellow and pink in the autumn. The rich cinnamon coloured bark peels away in papery layers all over the tree, even on the more slender branches. This slow-growing, understated tree has a classy character that makes it perfect for a single specimen planting or in groups in a woodland setting.
Grow in sun or partial shade, in any aspect and any moist free draining soil type.
Height and spread after 10 years 3.5 x 2.5m
