A Japanese Maple for all seasons. The golden younger branches and mellow orange/tan older wood are stunning in winter. In spring they are densely clothed in small new leaves that emerge in a combination of pink and orange flushed green, as good as any flowering display, slowly mellowing to a mid-green for the summer, making a dense and luxuriant crown. In autumn they turn an intense light yellow/ red before falling to reveal this upright shrub’s framework of colourful branches.
Will grow in full sun but colours better in part shade in all but poor and thin soils.
Height and spread after 10 years 2m x 1.5m.
