Description

Family Asparagaceae
Originating from Mexico

A cheerful looking Agave! Distinctive, bright yellowy green leaves have a jaunty curvaceous form, making a quirky looking clump of soft spineless fleshy leaves – not the fearsomely spikey look of most ‘Century Plants’. One of the hardier and more compact species, this stunning plant produces a unique 2m tall flower spike with hundreds of individual flowers, making a soft foxtail-like plume. It readily produces offsets (pups), making a slowly spreading colony and ensuring the long lifespan of the plant after the flowering rosette dies. Perfect for centrepiece positions in free draining beds in full sun or light shade, or for growing in pots.
