Family Rosaceae
Originating from Southern Europe
Clumps of scalloped leaves and a froth of acid green flowers in late spring. Each shallow cup-like leaf catches a droplet of water which sparkles in sunlight. Excellent ground cover.
In August, when the plant is fading, cut back hard for a second flush of foliage and flowers in autumn. It will seed freely if allowed, and this is one of the joys of Alchemilla.
Will tolerate a wide range of soils and is very drought tolerant once established. Grow in sun or shade.
Approximate height and spread after 2 years 50 x 50cm
