Family Malvaceae
Originating from S.W. Australia
A beautiful evergreen shrub for a bright conservatory with dull green hairy leaves and a profusion of luminous lilac flowers. After the first flush of flowers in spring it can be hard pruned to encourage a bushy habit and repeat flowering over a long period in summer and autumn. It can also be trained as a standard. It will tolerate some frost and would survive an average British winter in a very sheltered garden.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun.
Height and spread after 4-5 years 2.5 x 2.5m
