Family Asphodelaceae
Originating from Turkey
A clump-forming perennial forming a rosette of very long, narrow, grass-like blue/green leaves. It sends up 1.5m flower stems in late spring and the leaves continue the length of the stem, giving Asphodeline its most distinctive and beautiful appearance. At the ends of these stems it produces long, slender racemes of fragrant pale yellow flowers, followed by shiny green, marble-like seed-pods.
Grow in well-drained soil in sun. Mulch in very cold areas.
