Family Bromeliacae
A native of Brazil, this easy and fast-growing bromeliad has upright rosettes of bronze/green, long, slightly tapering, waxy leaves. The leaves can grow up to 30cm and are very finely toothed on their margins. It produces arching stems of cascading pink bracted flowers with pale green petals with blue margins.
Grow in moist, humus-rich soil in shade. Hardy in sheltered gardens although leaves may be scorched by a hard frost.
