A vigorous, deciduous shrub producing a profusion of long pendulous panicles of deep purple, honey-scented flowers, loved by bees and butterflies. This is the darkest Buddleja, flowering for months through July to October, sometimes longer. Very dramatic.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Will tolerate poor dry soil once established.
Prune hard in early spring (March).
