Originating from S. America and Asia
Perhaps the gaudiest of all cannas with rich purple leaves striped with pink, red, black and orange. Words cannot do it justice. Topped with huge bright orange flowers. Also goes under the flashier name of ‘Tropicana’ but there is no difference in terms of rate of growth, leaf or flower colour. It must surely deserve a place in the top five of the world’s most amazing variegated plants.
Grow in rich, fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun.
Height and spread after 2 – 3 years 1.5m x 1.5m
