A choice tree where space is limited, ‘Frans Fontaine’ makes a neat column of attractive ribbed green leaves that turn golden in autumn. Decorative hop-like catkins adorn the tree in spring and summer. A wonderful tree for a small garden.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun/part shade. Will tolerate heavy clay.
