Family Pinaceae
Originating from Algeria and Morocco

The silver-blue needles of this small evergreen weeping tree are one of the brightest of all conifer leaves to be found. In spring a fresh flush of new needles appears at the tip of every branch covering the whole tree and giving it a soft, luxurious appearance, almost inviting one to stroke the branches, however, this appearance belies its prickly needle-shaped foliage. This is a slow-growing form of the Atlas Cedar and will slowly gradually form an upright large shrub with cascades of foliage drooping down to the ground. Its distinctive shape means that this rare and desirable plant is best seen in plenty of space, as a single specimen or in groups where their form could create a unique and powerful composition, especially when used in combination with dark foliage plants. Cedars are very easy to grow and are drought tolerant once established. They perform best in full sun and will tolerate most soil types.

Height and spread after 6 – 7 years 2 x 1.5m
Mature height and spread after 15 years + if not pruned 4 x 3m
