This iconic and indispensable species is the backbone of our Mediterranean display beds at Urban Jungle Suffolk. Its outstanding tree like habit, evergreen, soft sword-shaped leaves and huge scented flowers make it a go to plant for dry gravel and jungle gardens. Hardy in all but northerly and inland gardens, it will re shoot from the trunk or, in extreme cold, from the roots after a harsh winter. After producing its large inflorescence the trunk branches creating a multi headed plant. Easy to grow in all soil types and excellent in coastal exposure.
