Family Cornaceae
Originating from Siberia, China, Korea
Set your garden alight this winter, with this outrageously bright incendiary variety. Its dark and yet brilliantly bright red stems providing a stunning winter display, setting off the fresh green foliage as it emerges in spring. Its small, unspectacular creamy white flowers are followed by white berries that persist on the bare burning stems after the foliage has turned kaleidoscopic shades of yellow, red and purple before falling. The slowly spreading upright stems attain their most intense colour if cut back in late winter, before its buds burst. Easy to grow in any soil in sun or part shade.
Height and spread after 5 – 10 years 2.5m x 2.5m.
