Family Cornaceae
Originating from Himalaya China
A stunning broad spreading evergreen large shrub or small tree with profuse flowering display followed by large showy fruits. Its elegant branching habit makes a tiered framework for the large oval handsomely veined leaves, which are practically obscured by the huge flowering display of creamy white bracts, surrounding an insignificant looking cluster of tiny greenish flowers. During summer and autumn large red fruits are produced, maturing from green to yellow and then striking bright red.
Easy to grow in all but alkaline soil in full sun or part shade.
Height and spread after 10 – 20 years 8m x 6m.
