Garden origin

Dutch variety found in a seedling of Cotinus coggygria. A bushy and shapely deciduous shrub or small tree, young purple shoots and bluish mature foliage. In autumn, the entire shrub becomes fluorescent red. Cloudy panicles of purple flowers in late summer.
Grow in moderately fertile, moist but well drained soil in sun or part shade. Can be pruned to restrict growth.
