Originating from E. Mediterranean to Iran
Cupressus sempervirens are the distinctive slender coniferous trees that are so characteristic a feature of the Italian landscape. ‘Totem Pole’ is especially dense and compact with sprays of rich, dark green foliage and is possibly the hardiest. They create marvellous vertical accents in the border or can be used in more formal compositions, for example to grace an entrance or doorway. Possibly the hardiest of al the Mediterranean cypress. They are naturally slender, but trimming in late spring will keep them very pencil-shaped.
Grow in well-drained soil in full sun.
