Wild and flamboyant starbursts of colour, with a dark and dusky backdrop, neat and compact, this loud and yet sophisticated Dahlia can take centre stage or form dazzling mounds around taller plants in exotic, jungle and even traditional English gardens. The petals are orange stained at their bases and brilliant golden yellow at their outer edges. They surround a central cluster of golden florets, making a floral display that lasts all summer and into autumn. Hardy enough to plant out in southern and coastal gardens, its tubers should be covered with straw in colder areas, or lifted for the winter. Easy to grow in all but the heaviest wet soil in full sun.
