Family Asteraceae
Originating from N. America
Herbaceous perennial producing large, daisy-like flowers on robust, upright stems. These consist of a central orange cone, surrounded by horizontally held, pink/red petals and are produced over a long period from mid summer to early autumn. Deadheading will prolong the flowering season further. Echinaceas look wonderful when planted with grasses, and the daisy-like flowers provide a superb contrast to the iris-like blooms of cannas.
Grow in moist but well-drained, fertile, humus rich soil in sun/part shade.
Mature height and spread after 1 – 2 years 60cm x 45cm
