Family Berberidaceae
Originating from China, Korea and Japan
An evergreen, clump-forming ground cover plant for shade. Blue/grey, arrow-shape leaves emerge in spring, becoming more glossy green as they mature. Starry-white flowers with a gold centre are held on wiry stems above the foliage. Cut back foliage in early spring – the flowers emerge before the new foliage, and it’s a very fiddly task to do this once the flowers have formed.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in shade/part shade.
