Originating from Mediterranean and E. Asia

Evergreen, slowly spreading, carpet forming perennial with glossy deep green, heart shaped leaves on wiry stems, with a conspicuous bronze flush when young. Produces bright yellow flowers up to 2.5cm across, like tiny orchids. A handsome and indispensable weed suppressing ground cover plant in a shady border, associating well with hostas, and ferns and providing valuable winter interest.

Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in shade/part shade. Will tolerate dry soil once established.

Height and spread after 2 – 3 years 40cm x 40cm
