Family Apiaceae
Originating from Morocco
An evergreen perennial forming a rosette of fleshy, dark green leaves with conspicuous white veins, like fine marbling. In summer taller stems bear spiny silvery/white bracts with pale blue flower heads. The seed heads look attractive in winter too. Brilliant when planted with Yuccas and Agaves.
Grow in poor, well-drained soil in sun. Very hardy but hates winter wet. Good drainage is essential.
