The Daddy of eucalypts. A majestic monster capable of growing 3m plus per year it quickly becomes a slender young tree densely clothed in broad oval and powdery silver juvenile foliage, and beautiful long silver/grey, scimitar shaped adult leaves. They hang in cascades, gently flapping against one another in the slightest breeze, reflecting light and infusing the air with aromatic oil, creating a unique sensory ‘bushlight’ experience. Forming a large, straight trunk, with grey and white peeling bark, it is slightly tender when young, hardy in most of the UK when mature. Easy to grow in all but the heaviest wet soil in full sun.
Height and spread in 5 – 10 years 15m x 8m.
