The unique and crazily wavy leaves of this hardy, evergreen perennial bring a lush and tropical look to moist, damp and even boggy parts of gardens. Looking most at home in jungle, woodland, or oriental style gardens where it can form slowly spreading clumps of tightly packed leaves with an intensely crinkled outer edge making a detailed and soft textured spectacle.
Forming an outstanding groundcover in Jungle style gardens, its eye-catching looks are not overtly tropical, making it suitable for English and oriental gardens too, where it looks great underplanted below Acer ‘Beni Maiko’, Acer ‘Katsura’, Ulmus x elegantissima ‘Jaqueline’.
Rich golden yellow sprays of daisy-like flowers are produced in late summer and autumn, held well above the foliage on slender stems.
Easy to grow in any but dry, poor soils in full or part shade, great in pots too.
