Elegant yet large and heavy foliage evokes the jungle, yet it is refined enough for traditional woodland gardens. Large, glossy, evergreen hand-shaped leaves with long fine lobes are borne on slender stems, forming a lush medium-sized shrub. Globe-shaped masses of creamy white blooms, loved by insects, appear in summer, followed by black fruits which are loved by birds.
Best grown in dappled shade, but it has proven itself in strong sun in our Beccles garden with only early morning shade. Thriving in all except thin, dry soil types.

Height and spread after 10 – 15 years 3m x 2.5m.
