Family Asparagaceae
Originating from Mexico

Bold sword-shaped grey/green leaves form a dense globe-shaped crown of stunningly architectural evergreen foliage. The fast-growing rosette of leaves develops a trunk and can flower at any height, from only 1.5m tall, but reputedly only after 10 years, an event worth waiting for. It produces an outrageous, show-stopping branched flower spike up to 3 – 5m tall, bearing hundreds of pale yellow star shaped heavily scented blooms. Hardy enough to try outside in coastal and southern regions. Grow in any soil type in the hottest sunniest position with a warm microclimate.

Height and spread after 10 – 20 years 2.5m x 1.5m
