Family Papilionaceae
Originating from Sardinia/Sicily
An upright, shrub, assuming the form of a small, graceful, weeping tree, with long, arching branches bearing slender green shoots. Although deciduous, from a distance this broom takes on the appearance of an evergreen in winter due to the colour of these shoots. The leaves are few and fairly inconspicuous but the flowers are produced in profusion covering the shoots with fragrant yellow blooms in mid to late summer.
Grow in moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Will tolerate poor soil.
