Family Plantaginaceae.
Originating from New Zealand.
Blue/grey, pinky red, and mauve, compact and diminutive, this variety adds a distinctive habit and character to lower levels of compositions. Previously known as Hebe, this evergreen shrub has a neat habit and a great colour combination.
The new growth is strongly flushed purple/lilac and has a striking geometric formation on the short stems. Red edges appear on the mature foliage during autumn, winter, and early spring. Its colour and soft rounded habit makes a great contrast to planting compositions amongst taller spiky plants such as Yuccas, Dasylirion acrotrichum and Astelia Red Shadow.
Mauve fading to white flowers, loved by pollinators, produced in profusion during summer. Easy to grow in all but heavy wet, acidic soil in full sun or part shade.
Height and spread after 2 – 5 years 50cm x 50cm.
