Hedychium densiflorum is a clump forming ginger with thin, tapering, lance-shaped, glossy mid green leaves up to 30cm long on slender but strong stems. Produces numerous slender cylindrical, upright racemes of slightly fragrant apricot/orange flowers from late summer to autumn.
One of the hardiest gingers it may be left in the ground in sheltered gardens with a thick, protective mulch in winter.
Hedychium densiflorum grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun/part shade.
Mature height and spread after 2 – 3 years 1.2m x 1.2m
