Flamboyant, scented, and exotic, this old variety has stood the test of time and is still one of the best sources of intense loud summer colour. Masses of hot yellow trumpet-shaped flowers on tall stems over a clump of deciduous rich green strap-shaped leaves. Individual blooms last a day and are borne on stems bearing many buds, so will soon be followed by another bloom. Hyperion forms a slowly spreading clump and the overall flowering period of a whole plant may last many weeks. Easy to grow in any soil in full sun or light shade.
