Family Caprifoliaceae
Originating from China
A stunning upright, bushy shrub or small tree with many different characteristics that display throughout the season. It has deciduous recurved mid green leaves arranged in symmetrical ranks on its branches, a profuse display of clusters of small fragrant white flowers from late summer to late autumn. After the blooms have fallen their calyxes remain on the branches and turn a strong pinky red, lingering for up to another month and adding yet more display to the garden. Its tan bark peels and has a soft textured look, looking great close to a path or seating area, adding another dimension to its graceful branching habit.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun/part shade.

Semi mature height and spread after 8 – 10 years 3.5m x 3m
